Most of the world’s countries are open to travelers from the United States. With global case numbers on the decline, many nations are easing their requirements for visitors to test or quarantine. Some countries that had fully closed to foreign tourists — including Israel, Morocco, Australia and New Zealand — have either dropped those bans or announced plans to do so.

In Europe, many countries — including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Poland — have eliminated their Covid-related travel restrictions. Other European nations like France, Spain, Germany, Austria and Italy have eased their border rules, but still require tourists to meet vaccination or testing requirements.

Several Asian nations that had closed their borders to tourists have now reopened. Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia are once again welcoming American visitors, although vaccine or testing requirements are in force in most cases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, meanwhile, continues advising Americans not to travel internationally until they are fully inoculated against Covid-19. Even then, the C.D.C. is cautioning travelers to “pay close attention to the situation at your international destination before traveling outside the United States.”

The United States also requires returning Americans to provide negative tests taken within one day of departure, a policy that supplements a system for inbound international travel unveiled in November that prohibits unvaccinated foreign nationals from entering the United States. Under that system, unvaccinated Americans may still return home, but they must commit to taking a second test three to five days after landing.

Those wanting to learn about the coronavirus risk in a specific country can visit the C.D.C. website where a four-tier ranking system provides guidance. For information on entry requirements like testing and quarantine, as well as curfews and movement restrictions, the State Department’s website offers detailed information by country.

Here is a list of countries that are open to U.S. citizens. Many require visitors to complete a health form, provide proof of vaccination, and present a recent negative Covid-19 test result. To qualify as fully vaccinated in places such as France, Austria and Greece, a visitor must have received either a booster shot or a second dose within a specified period.

Visitors 6 and older must present one of the following: proof of full vaccination; a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the previous 72 hours; a negative result from a rapid test taken in the previous 48 hours; or documentation from a licensed healthcare provider of having recovered from Covid-19 in the previous 6 months. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Travel to Andorra is over land from Spain or France, so check the entry requirements for those countries first. There are no limits on movement between Spain and Andorra, nor for travelers entering Andorra from France. Travelers 12 and over departing Andorra for France must provide proof of full vaccination, recent recovery or a negative test result from the previous 48 hours. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must complete a registration form before travel. They must also present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 72 hours before departure and pay $20 on arrival (via credit card or cash) to undergo a rapid antigen test at the airport.

Anyone wishing to visit Anguilla must apply for permission to enter. Only fully vaccinated visitors are allowed, though exceptions are made for pregnant women and children under 18. Travelers need a negative result from a P.C.R. or other molecular test taken two to five days before arrival, or a negative result from an antigen test taken the day before arrival. All travelers will be tested on arrival and will be required to remain in place at their accommodation until they receive a negative result, usually within 24 hours. The cost of the on-arrival test is covered by a $50 fee that visitors pay when they submit their application to enter the country. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

All visitors 18 or older must present proof of vaccination. Passengers are no longer required to test before travel, but anyone who displays symptoms may be tested on arrival. Unvaccinated minors between the ages of 5 and 18 must present a negative result from a Covid-19 administered in the four days before travel; they may be required to quarantine. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated Americans may visit Argentina if they present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before departure, or a negative result from a rapid test that is no more than 48 hours old. Children under 6 and travelers who can document their recovery from Covid-19 in the previous 90 days are exempt from the pretest requirement. Travelers under 18 are not required to show proof of vaccination. Visitors must complete an electronic sworn statement within 48 hours of traveling and purchase insurance that covers Covid-19 medical treatment. Unvaccinated adult visitors are allowed entry only if they qualify for a handful of specific exceptions. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers must provide either proof of full vaccination or a negative result from a Covid-19 test administered within 72 hours of arrival; they may also choose to undergo testing on arrival and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. Children under 6 are exempt. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

The country is open to visitors from the United States who have finished a primary course of vaccination (two doses of an mRNA vaccine or one dose of Johnson & Johnson). All passengers arriving by air must submit the Digital Passenger Declaration within 72 hours of their departure for Australia. When doing so, they must upload a negative result from a P.C.R., N.A.A.T., L.A.M.P., R.T.-P.C.R., or T.M.A. test administered within three days of the flight’s scheduled departure, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test administered within 24 hours of the flight’s scheduled departure. Depending on their final destination within Australia, visitors may have to quarantine on arrival, even if they are vaccinated. Travelers should check the rules of the state or territory they are visiting to find the relevant quarantine requirements. Prospective visitors who are not fully vaccinated must qualify for an exemption. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

American tourists visiting Austria must provide one of the following: proof of full vaccination; proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous 180 days; a negative result from a molecular test conducted within 72 hours of their entry into Austria; or a negative result from a rapid antigen test conducted within 24 hours of entry.

To qualify as fully vaccinated, travelers who have completed only a primary course of vaccination must have received their last dose in the previous 270 days; those who have also received a booster are considered fully vaccinated for an additional 270 days following the date they received their booster. Children under 12 are exempt from these requirements if they are traveling with fully vaccinated or recovered adults. Unvaccinated tourists are not allowed entry, with the exception of pregnant women and those who cannot receive the vaccine for medical reasons; people in those categories must provide a medical certificate and a negative P.C.R. test result.

N95/FFP2 masks are required on public transportation throughout Austria as well as in supermarkets, pharmacies and other essential stores. Additional measures are imposed in Vienna, where masks are required in all shops and museums, and proof of vaccination or recovery is necessary to enter bars, restaurants and clubs. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors 18 and over may enter with either proof of full vaccination or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 infection. In addition, all travelers ages 1 and older must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered within 72 hours of the flight. All travelers 18 and older must apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa; the cost of the visa includes insurance coverage and varies with the length of stay and vaccination status of the traveler. Health visa applications generally take 48 hours to process; travelers must present their visa confirmation before departure to the Bahamas. Travelers 2 years and older must also provide a negative result from a Covid-19 test administered with 72 hours of departure. Anyone presenting an older test result will not be allowed entry. Unvaccinated travelers 12 and over must have a negative result from a molecular test, while vaccinated adults and children 2 to 11 may present a negative result from either a rapid test or a molecular test.

According to the U.S. Embassy, visitors must download the “BeAware Bahrain” app before travel. Arriving passengers are no longer required to test or show proof of vaccination. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Vaccinated travelers may enter without a pretest. (A booster is not required to qualify.) Unvaccinated travelers must provide a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of departure. Children under 12 are exempt from the testing and vaccination requirements.

All arriving passengers 5 years and over must travel with a negative Covid-19 test result. The negative result may be from a P.C.R. test taken within three days of arrival, or from an antigen test taken within one day of arrival. Arriving passengers must also complete an online form 24 hours before arrival. Vaccinated visitors may enter without quarantine, although they may be randomly selected for testing on arrival. Those who aren’t vaccinated must quarantine at government-approved accommodations for three days, then test on day 4. If that test result comes back negative, they are allowed to move freely. Children under 18 who aren’t vaccinated must follow the guidelines of their accompanying adult. Passengers in transit to another country need the negative pretest and may be subject to a rapid test before departure. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated visitors are allowed entry with no testing or quarantine requirements. Unvaccinated travelers may enter Belgium only in exceptional circumstances and must test before departure. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

As of March 1, travelers with proof of vaccination may enter without a negative test result. Unvaccinated visitors 5 and over must show a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of arrival, or from a rapid test taken within 48 hours of arrival. Alternatively, testing is available at the airport for $50. All foreign tourists must show proof of having purchased travel health insurance; they are also required to book accommodation at an approved hotel. All visitors to Benin must apply online for an eVisa before departure. Passengers 2 and over arriving by air must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than five days before departure, or from a rapid antigen result from the previous three days.

Arriving passengers must show proof of vaccination as well as a negative Covid-19 test result. (The result may be from a rapid antigen test taken no more than two days before arrival or from a molecular test taken within four days of arrival.) Children under 2 are exempt from the pretest requirement, while children under 12 are exempt from the vaccination requirement. Travelers must submit an authorization form within one to three days of arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors over 5 must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before departure. Unvaccinated travelers are required to undergo another P.C.R. test, at their own expense, within 72 hours of arrival; they must quarantine until they receive a negative result. Those who aren’t permanent residents must have health insurance that covers Covid-19 treatment. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

All arriving passengers 7 and older must present one of the following: a negative P.C.R. or antigen test result taken in the previous 72 hours if coming from the United States (48 hours if coming from Europe); proof of full vaccination; or a doctor’s certificate of Covid-19 recovery in the 14 to 180 days before arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Travelers who have completed at least a primary course of vaccination may enter without a negative test result. Arriving passengers who are unvaccinated may enter with a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before departure; they must also test on arrival, at their own expense. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Passengers 12 years and older from the United States must present proof of vaccination against Covid-19. They must also provide a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before they board their flight, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test from the previous 24 hours. Children under 12 are exempt from pretesting if they are traveling with adults who present the required negative test results. Children 2 to 11 must pretest if they are traveling unaccompanied. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated travelers 18 and over may enter without quarantine if they provide proof of full vaccination as well as a negative P.C.R. or antigen test result from the previous five days; they must also purchase travel insurance that covers the cost of Covid-19 hospitalization and quarantine accommodation, among other things. Fully vaccinated travelers can avoid testing on arrival by providing a P.C.R. or rapid antigen test result from no later than 48 hours before their arrival. Anyone who does not meet that cutoff — even if because of flight delays — will be required to test on the day of arrival. Children must follow the testing requirements for adults; they will also be tested on arrival. Unvaccinated adult travelers must register with the BVI Gateway, test before travel, purchase insurance, and undergo testing on arrival and on day 7; they must quarantine at an approved location until they receive a negative result from the day 7 test. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Visitors arriving from the United States, regardless of their citizenship, may enter without quarantine if they provide one of the following: proof of vaccination (C.D.C. cards are accepted); a negative Covid-19 test result that is no more than 72 hours old; or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 from the previous 180 days. According to the U.S. Embassy, vaccination certificates are considered valid from the 15th to the 270th day after the last dose was received. A random selection of passengers will also be tested on arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must present a negative P.C.R. test upon arrival that is no more than five days old. Those arriving without will be given a rapid test at the airport at a cost of $45 and will be detained until results are available. A negative P.C.R. test from the previous 3 days is also required to exit the country by air.

Arriving passengers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 72 hours before boarding their flight to Burundi. According to the U.S. Embassy, travelers must pay $100 for an on-arrival test and self-isolate at an accommodation of their choice until they receive a negative result, usually within 24 hours. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Burundi.

All arriving passengers 12 years old and over must present a negative result from either a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before departure, or a rapid antigen test taken no more than 48 hours before departure. Upon arrival, travelers must complete a health questionnaire and have their temperature checked. Anyone displaying symptoms may be put in isolation and subjected to a test. Inter-island travel requires visitors to present a negative test result or proof of vaccination or recovery.

A negative Covid-19 test result is no longer required. Fully vaccinated travelers may enter without quarantine. Unvaccinated visitors must quarantine for 14 days at a designated facility at their own expense. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Cambodia.

Visitors from the United States who hold a valid tourist visa may enter Cameroon. Passengers must present a negative result from a virus test administered no more than 48 hours before arrival. All travelers 5 and older are also subject to testing on arrival. Outbound passengers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test dated within 48 hours of boarding international flight. Travelers must use a government-approved testing site and register their results before departure.

As of April 1, vaccinated U.S. citizens and residents may enter Canada for nonessential reasons, including tourism, without providing a negative test result. (A booster is not required to qualify.) All travelers must use the ArriveCAN system to enter their proof of vaccination and other traveler information before arrival. Passengers may be subject to testing on arrival. Travelers who present symptoms may be denied entry.

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children 5 years and older must provide a negative result from either an antigen test taken within one day of travel, or a molecular test taken within 72 hours of their flight departure or entry via land border. Alternatively, they may enter with a positive result from a molecular test taken at least 10 days and no more than 180 days before their entry into Canada. Children under 5 are not required to test, regardless of their vaccination status. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated minors ages 12 to 17 are subject to testing requirements and a 14-day quarantine, even when they are accompanied by vaccinated adults. Unvaccinated adults must qualify for an exemption; if approved for entry, they are also subject to testing and quarantine requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Entry is allowed to fully vaccinated visitors who upload proof of vaccination to the Travel Cayman platform. Unvaccinated children under 12 may enter if they are traveling with vaccinated adults. All arriving passengers 5 and over must present a negative result from a Covid-19 test (either P.C.R. or rapid antigen) that was administered no earlier than the day before departure. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

A negative P.C.R. test from the previous 72 hours is required before both entry and departure. Tourists from the United States must quarantine for 14 days after arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers who carry a valid vaccine card may enter without a pretest. Unvaccinated travelers 12 and older must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 96 hours of arrival. To leave the country, visitors must obtain a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted at one of two certified labs; the cost of the test is roughly $30 for those who are vaccinated and about $70 for unvaccinated travelers.

Americans who are fully vaccinated may enter if they present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered within 72 hours of boarding a flight; a traveler’s affidavit completed within 48 hours of boarding; and proof of travel medical insurance that covers a minimum of $30,000 worth of Covid-19 medical expenses in Chile. Visitors must also obtain a mobility pass before traveling, a process that may take more than four weeks. Travelers are required to undergo a P.C.R. test on arrival and isolate until they receive a negative result. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated visitors from the United States may enter without a negative test result. Partially vaccinated visitors or those who received their vaccine less than two weeks earlier must present a negative result from a virus test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Colombia. Unvaccinated Americans 18 and over may not travel to Colombia. All incoming passengers must complete an online form within 72 hours of boarding their flight. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Visitors may enter with a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted in the 72 hours before travel. A negative P.C.R. result that is no more than 72 hours old is also required to leave the country.

The country is open with no testing requirements or quarantine mandate. As of April 1, visitors are no longer required to apply for a health pass or purchase insurance. Commercial establishments are now operating at full capacity, but mask requirements remain in force. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated travelers may now enter without a negative test result. (A booster is required to qualify if the primary course of vaccination was completed more than nine months previously.) Unvaccinated travelers must carry a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Abidjan. All passengers will have their temperatures checked on arrival. Departing passengers who are unvaccinated must present a negative P.C.R. test from no more than 72 hours before travel, regardless of the testing requirements of their destination.

Visitors from the United States may enter with evidence of paid tourist accommodation (or proof of ownership of a home or vessel), as well as one of the following pieces of documentation: proof of full vaccination (including a booster if more than 270 days have passed since the primary vaccination course was completed); a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of arrival; a negative antigen test taken in the 48 hours before arrival; or proof of having recovered from Covid-19 in the 180 days before arrival. Children under 12 are exempt from the requirements, provided they are traveling with an adult who meets them. Visitors can facilitate their border crossing by completing an entry form before departure. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

General tourism is not permitted, but fully vaccinated Americans are allowed to visit to see family and under certain professional and humanitarian circumstances. All incoming passengers must complete an online sworn statement before they depart for Cuba, provide proof of full vaccination, and obtain a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted no more than 72 hours before travel. Health authorities will randomly select passengers for Covid-19 screening on arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

All passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus must complete an online form before departure. Fully vaccinated U.S. travelers may enter without a pretest. Unvaccinated travelers 12 and over must present either a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted within 72 hours of their departure for Cyprus, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test from the previous 24 hours. Unvaccinated travelers must also undergo a P.C.R. test on arrival and self-isolate until they receive a negative result, within 24 hours. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Only fully vaccinated travelers from the United States may enter as tourists. Arriving passengers must complete a passenger locator form and carry proof of vaccination (C.D.C. cards are accepted). The government recommends that visitors arrive with a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before the start of their travels. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers 11 and older must present a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken within three days of departure. Another test will be given on arrival and travelers must self-quarantine until they receive a negative result, generally within 24 hours. Before traveling, visitors should register their information and prepay $45 for their on-arrival test at INRBCOVID.com. Visitors should also have proof of health and medical evacuation insurance and a certificate of yellow fever vaccination. To exit the country, travelers must present a negative test result taken within 3 days of planned departure, according to the U.S. Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The cost of the test is $30.

Denmark has lifted all pandemic-related travel restrictions. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Potential visitors must apply online for an eVisa before travel. All arriving passengers 11 and older must provide proof of vaccination as well as a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of boarding their flight, and not more than 120 hours before their arrival in the country. Upon landing, travelers are given another test at a cost of $30. The Ministry of Health has suggested that international visitors quarantine for five days after arrival.

All travelers must submit a completed health questionnaire at least 24 hours before entry. (This requirement will be dropped beginning April 4.) Vaccinated visitors are no longer subject to testing requirements, either before departure or on arrival, provided they are without symptoms. Unvaccinated travelers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of arrival or a negative result from an antigen test from the previous 48 hours; they are no longer required to quarantine. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must complete an electronic travel form before travel and have their temperatures checked on arrival. Authorities randomly administer Covid-19 tests to a random selection of arriving passengers age 7 and over and to people who show symptoms. Visitors who present a vaccination card dated at least three weeks after the final dose, and those who carry a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test taken within 72 hours of arrival are exempt from the random test. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Aruba allows visitors to enter without a negative test result or proof of vaccination. Arriving passengers are required to purchase Aruba Visitors Insurance and to complete an Embarkation/Disembarkation card before arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Bonaire requires all arriving passengers to complete a health declaration between 12 and 24 hours before departure. Vaccinated travelers must present either a negative result from a P.C.R. or N.A.A.T. test conducted in the 48 hours before departure, or a negative result from an antigen test conducted in the 24 hours before departure. Unvaccinated travelers do not have the option of an antigen pretest. Children under 12 are exempt from testing. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very High.

Curaçao now allows visitors to enter without a negative test result. Before departure, visitors must complete a digital immigration card and passenger locator card. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: High.

Saba requires visitors to complete an online entry application form before travel. All travelers 11 and over must show a negative result from Covid-19 test; the result may be from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before their arrival, or from a rapid antigen test taken no more than 48 hours before arrival. Children ages 2 to 10 are tested on arrival. Visitors 2 and over must also undergo a test on day 4 after arrival; the test is provided free of charge. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Sint Eustatius requires all visitors to register online before their departure. Travelers 12 and older from very high risk countries like the United States must provide a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 48 hours of departure. Vaccinated travelers are asked to monitor themselves for symptoms; they must undergo an antigen test on day 5. Unvaccinated visitors must quarantine for 7 days and take an antigen test on the final day. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Sint Maarten, which is Dutch, and French St. Martin are primarily entered through Princess Juliana Airport on the Dutch side. Visitors must register online at least 12 hours before travel. Vaccinated travelers, those who have proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous nine months, and children under 5 are not required to test before entry. Unvaccinated travelers 5 and over are required to present a negative P.C.R. result from the previous 48 hours. Before travel, all visitors must submit a health authorization form, the completion of which includes the purchase of mandatory Covid-19 insurance. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Arriving passengers must present a negative result from a virus test conducted within five days of travel. Those who can prove that they are fully vaccinated are exempt from the 14-day quarantine that is required of unvaccinated travelers. However, fully vaccinated visitors must undergo a P.C.R. test within 48 hours of arrival and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. The U.S. Embassy advises potential visitors to confirm the latest entry rules with the Timorese Embassy in Washington before travel. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

All arriving passengers age 3 and over must provide either proof of vaccination or a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before boarding their flight to Ecuador. They must also complete a declaration of traveler health. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Arriving passengers 6 and older must show either proof of full vaccination or a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before departure. However, the U.S. Embassy notes that Egyptian border officials require vaccination cards to include a QR code, so C.D.C. vaccination cards are not being accepted. Thus, the Embassy advises visitors from the United States to arrive with an appropriate negative test result, which also must include a QR code. In November 2021, El Salvador stopped requiring visitors to provide a negative test or proof of vaccination. The U.S. Embassy in El Salvador advises travelers to confirm this with their airline to avoid any complications during travel. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

All arriving passengers must complete an online form within 72 hours of their departure for Estonia. Asymptomatic visitors from the United States who are either vaccinated or who have recovered from Covid-19 in the previous 180 days may enter without testing and for any purpose. Travelers who have received two doses of vaccine are considered fully vaccinated for nine months after completing their original course of vaccination; a booster dose extends the period of validity for an additional year. Unvaccinated and unrecovered adult visitors from the United States may not enter Estonia for tourism. Minors aged 12 to 18 who are neither vaccinated nor recently recovered may enter but are subject to test requirements; children under 12 are exempt. Visitors age 11 and over must carry a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 120 hours (five days) of arrival. According to the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia, travelers should create an account and upload their negative test result to the PANABios online platform before departure. Those who can provide proof of full vaccination or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 from the previous 90 days are not required to quarantine after arrival. A negative result from a P.C.R. test is also required before leaving the country.

Fully vaccinated Americans may enter if they provide a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted no more than two calendar days before their departure for Fiji, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours of their departure. Children under 12 are exempt from the test requirement, as are those who can document their recovery from Covid-19 in the previous 30 days. Visitors must also undergo a rapid test two days after their arrival; they are not required to quarantine while awaiting their results. Unvaccinated children under 18 may enter with a vaccinated adult. All travelers must carry proof of having booked accommodation with a service provider that has been certified through the “Care Fiji Commitment (C.F.C.)” program; they must also carry proof of having booked their airport transfer with a C.F.C.-approved transport service. All arriving passengers born in 2006 or earlier must present proof of vaccination; a negative test result is no longer required. Unvaccinated adults are allowed entry only for essential reasons, such as to visit Finnish family members or for work. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated travelers may enter France without a negative test result. For entry purposes, France accepts C.D.C. vaccination cards. In order to qualify as fully vaccinated, arriving passengers must have received their second dose of vaccine within the past nine months; those who have also received a booster dose are not subject to a time limit. Because the United States now appears on France’s “green list,” unvaccinated travelers may enter with a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of departure; a negative result from an antigen test from the previous 48 hours; or a certificate of recovery, consisting of positive result from a P.C.R. or antigen test carried out more than 11 days and fewer than 6 months before travel. The country is open to fully vaccinated tourists from the United States. Those who have received only two doses of vaccine qualify as “fully vaccinated” for nine months following the date of their second dose; those who have also received a booster face no time limit. Up to 30 days before departure, travelers must submit a request via the ETIS platform. (This requirement will be eliminated as of March 28.) All arriving passengers 12 or older are required to present a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test administered within 24 hours of boarding their flight. All travelers 6 years and older will be tested on arrival. Those who are unvaccinated must provide a compelling reason for their visit to French Polynesia. If permitted entry, unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for seven days and undergo P.C.R. tests on days 2 and 5 after arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

St. Barts is open to fully vaccinated travelers. Arriving passengers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test administered within 48 hours of boarding their flight. Guadeloupe and Martinique are open to vaccinated travelers, but those 12 and older who are coming from the United States need a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test taken in the 24 hours before departure. Unvaccinated visitors must show proof of a compelling reason to travel. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Guadeloupe and Martinique is Level 4: Very high.

The country has lifted its pandemic-related restrictions. Visitors may now enter without a negative test result.

Fully vaccinated travelers do not need a pretest, but if they display symptoms, they may be subject to rapid testing on arrival. Anyone who tests positive must quarantine for 14 days at their own expense. Unvaccinated travelers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 72 hours before departure; they must also undergo testing on arrival.

Germany is open to fully vaccinated visitors from the United States with no pretest requirement. Unvaccinated children under 12 may enter with a vaccinated parent if they provide either a certificate of recovery from the previous six months or a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test taken within 48 hours of arrival. Children under 6 are not required to test. Unvaccinated adults must demonstrate an important reason for entering Germany. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Non-citizen and non-resident visitors who are 18 or older must show proof of vaccination to enter the country (a booster is not required). Arriving passengers no longer need to provide a negative test result.

Arriving passengers must present one of the following: proof of vaccination; proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous 180 days; a negative result from a molecular (P.C.R.) test performed no more than 72 hours before the scheduled arrival; or a negative result from a rapid antigen test performed no more than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival. Children under 5 are exempt. Vaccination certificates are considered valid for nine months following the completion of the first course of vaccination; travelers who have also received a booster dose are considered vaccinated indefinitely. Grenada is open to fully vaccinated visitors. Arriving passengers must present a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken within one day of arrival (results from rapid tests are accepted). Arriving passengers must present their original vaccination card and complete a health declaration form. Travelers undergo health screenings on arrival, including symptom reviews and temperature checks. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers must present either proof of vaccination or a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test conducted no more than three days before check-in at the airport (for air passengers) or arrival at the border (for travelers coming by land). The country is open to vaccinated travelers. Visitors must carry a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before departure.

Visitors may enter with a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the previous 48 hours. Travelers must also obtain a negative P.C.R. result within 72 hours of their departure from the country; tests can be obtained in the capital city of Bissau for about $45.

Arriving passengers must show proof of full vaccination and carry a negative result from a Covid-19 test administered within 72 hours of arrival. Anyone arriving with an expired test result must pay about $85 to undergo testing at the airport and quarantine until they receive a negative result. Visitors to Haiti must present a negative result from either a P.C.R. or antigen test administered no more than 72 hours before travel. Fully vaccinated tourists are not required to pretest, but others must have a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken in the previous 72 hours. Visitors must also complete an online pre-check form before travel. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Hungary lifted all of its pandemic-related travel restrictions on March 7. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

The country lifted all Covid-related border restrictions on Feb. 25. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Passengers arriving from the United States must submit either proof of vaccination (with or without a booster) or a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of departure. Travelers should upload the relevant documentation to the Air Suvidha portal before departure. Two percent of arriving passengers are randomly selected to undergo testing on arrival. Children under 5 are exempt from testing unless they develop Covid-19 symptoms. All travelers are asked to monitor their health for 14 days after arrival and self-isolate if they develop Covid-19 symptoms.

Arriving passengers 12 and older must show proof of vaccination (with or without a booster) as well as a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted within 48 hours of departure. They must also submit to a P.C.R. test on arrival. U.S. citizens who enter via the airport in Jakarta must arrive with a visa in hand, as visas are not being issued on arrival. U.S. travelers who fly directly to the Indonesian islands of Bali, Batam and Bintan are eligible for a visa on arrival provided that — in addition to meeting the vaccination and testing requirements described above — they also provide proof of health insurance that will cover a minimum of $25,000 worth of Covid-19 medical treatment; proof of a booking at a certified hotel; a passport with a validity of at least six months; and either a return ticket or a ticket for onward travel to another country. The cost for a visa on arrival is 500,000 rupiah, or about $35. The U.S. Embassy recommends that travelers consult the Indonesian Embassy in the United States for the latest entry rules. Visitors must apply for a tourist visa, which can be done online. Arriving passengers must present proof of vaccination as well as a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted within 72 hours of arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Arriving passengers must present proof of vaccination and a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the previous 72 hours. Additional testing, requiring payment in cash, may be done at the airport. Those traveling to the Iraqi Kurdistan Region require a negative P.C.R. result from the previous 48 hours; they must also pledge to self-isolate for 14 days. The U.S. Embassy advises that entry and exit requirements are subject to change at short notice. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

As of March 6, foreign visitors to Ireland are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or recovery or a negative test result. The requirement that travelers complete a passenger locator form has also been removed. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Israel is open to all tourists regardless of their vaccination status. Visitors arriving by air must complete an online form, present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before departure, and submit to a second test on arrival, at a cost of between $26 and $40. (Travelers who have recovered from Covid-19 in the previous three months are exempt from the predeparture test requirement.) As of March 8, visitors must also have health insurance that covers Covid-19 treatment. After on-arrival testing, vaccinated travelers must go directly to their accommodation and quarantine until they receive a negative result, usually within 12 hours. Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for seven days, then take another P.C.R. test on the seventh day. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Asymptomatic travelers from the United States may enter Italy if they present one of the following: proof of vaccination, a medical certificate confirming recovery from Covid-19 in the previous six months, a negative result from a molecular test administered within 72 hours of arrival, or a negative result from an antigen test conducted within 48 hours of arrival. For entry purposes, travelers may use their C.D.C. cards as proof of vaccination. Visitors who have completed only a primary vaccination series must have received their last dose between 14 and 270 days before arrival; travelers who have also received a booster shot face no time restriction. Regardless of their vaccination status, all arriving passengers 12 years and older must provide a negative result from either a molecular or antigen test taken within three days of departure; self-tests are not accepted.

Visitors age 5 and over must register before departure. Arriving passengers are no longer required to present a negative test result, but non-Jordanians must show proof of health insurance. Travelers must provide a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than three days before their arrival in the country; children under 5 are exempt. Fully vaccinated visitors may now enter without a pretest. Unvaccinated travelers age 5 and above must present a negative P.C.R. result from up to 72 hours before departure; they must also pay $30 to undergo rapid testing on arrival. If positive, they must self-isolate and pay $50 for a P.C.R. test.

Visitors must present one of the following: proof of vaccination (including a booster dose if more than 12 months have passed since the primary course was completed); a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous 90 days; or a negative result from a P.C.R. test that is no more than 48 hours old. Children under 12 are exempt. The U.S. Embassy advises that airlines may have differing requirements; they recommend that all visitors test before travel. The country is open to fully vaccinated travelers without a pretest requirement. Visitors from the United States must apply online for an eVisa before departure. Unvaccinated travelers may enter, but they must carry a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of arrival. They must also home quarantine for seven days and undergo a P.C.R. test on the seventh day to exit quarantine. Unvaccinated travelers under age 16 are exempt from the testing and quarantine requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated passengers may enter without a pretest. Unvaccinated travelers 5 and over must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before their arrival in the country. According to the U.S. Embassy, U.S. citizens are currently not allowed to enter the country via a land border. The Embassy also advises that the rules may change with little or no advance notice and that airline requirements may differ from those of the government.

Americans may enter without restriction provided they have received at least two doses of an mRNA vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Unvaccinated visitors from the United States and other high-risk countries must demonstrate an essential reason for travel; test within 72 hours of departure and again within 24 hours of arrival; and self-isolate for 10 days. Fully vaccinated travelers may enter without a negative test result. (Visitors who completed their primary course of vaccination more than six months previously must have also received a booster dose to qualify as vaccinated.) Unvaccinated travelers age 12 and over must present a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test taken with 48 hours of departure. They must also undergo a P.C.R. test on arrival and avoid public places until they receive a negative result, usually within 24 hours. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before departure. All passengers are screened on arrival; those presenting Covid-19 symptoms may be denied entry.

Travelers 18 and over are required to show proof of full vaccination to enter Liberia. Arriving passengers 5 and over must also present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before their departure. They are required to undergo a subsequent test on arrival, at a cost of $75 for visitors arriving from the United States. The government of Liberia strongly encourages all travelers to isolate for seven days after arrival. A negative test result within 72 hours of departure is needed to exit Liberia.

U.S. citizens can enter with negative results from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 48 hours before travel. According to the U.S. Embassy, visitors from the United States are required to quarantine after arrival; the Embassy notes that Libya’s entry requirements could change with “little to no advance notice.” The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Unvaccinated travelers from the United States and those who haven’t recovered from Covid-19 who are 16 and older must present a negative result from a P.C.R. taken test in the 72 hours before arrival; the government recommends that they undergo a subsequent test within three days of arrival. Arriving passengers must present a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. test administered no more than 72 hours before boarding. A second test is required on arrival, at a cost of 25 euros. Each arriving passenger must present confirmation of a booking for two nights at a hotel, as well as a letter of commitment indicating their willingness to self-isolate until they receive a negative result from their on-arrival test. Arriving passengers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of departure; children under the age of 1 are exempt. A negative result from the previous 72 hours is also required to exit Malawi, regardless of the requirements of the destination country.

As of April 1, Malaysia has reopened to visitors from the United States and other countries. Arriving passengers must download the MySejahtera app, obtain a negative result from a P.C.R. test within two days of departure, and undergo a subsequent test within 24 hours of arrival. Short-term travelers must also have travel insurance that covers treatment for Covid-19. Fully vaccinated travelers and children under 18 are not required to quarantine unless they test positive on arrival. Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for five days and obtain a negative test result before being released. The U.S. Embassy advises that entry restrictions may change at short notice. Arriving passengers no longer need to present a negative test result, but they must complete a Traveler Health Declaration form within 48 hours of departure. They must also carry proof of a booking at a registered tourist accommodation. No quarantine is required for travelers who do not exhibit symptoms. Travelers must present a negative Covid-19 test result dated within five days of arrival. Anyone without the required documentation and those suspected of having the virus will be tested at the airport and may be required to quarantine pending a negative result. The U.S. Embassy notes that entry requirements could change with little or no advanced notice and advises travelers to contact their airline to confirm the latest Covid-related restrictions and test requirements.

The United States is on Malta’s list of red countries, which means that arriving passengers who are fully vaccinated may enter the country without quarantine or testing, provided their C.D.C. vaccination card has been verified through the VeriFLY app. To qualify as fully vaccinated, travelers who have undergone only a primary course of vaccination must have received the final dose in the past three months; those who have also received a booster dose must have received the final dose in the past nine months. Unvaccinated visitors 12 and over must present a negative P.C.R. result and quarantine at a designated facility for 14 days after arrival. Children 5 to 11 must present a negative P.C.R. result no more than 72 hours old but are exempt from quarantine; testing is not required for children under 5. Regardless of age and vaccination status, all arriving passengers must complete a digital passenger locator form. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

The country is open to fully vaccinated travelers who present a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted within three days of their arrival in Mauritania. The U.S. Embassy notes that all passengers over the age of 11 must also present a negative test result in order to exit the country.

All visitors must complete a travel form and purchase Covid-19 health insurance coverage. Vaccinated travelers do not need a pretest but must undergo testing on arrival. In addition to the travel form, Covid-19 insurance and on-arrival test, unvaccinated travelers must also self-isolate for seven days in an accommodation of their choice. U.S. travelers may enter Mexico without testing or quarantine. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

As of March 16, Moldova has lifted all Covid-related entry requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

The United States is on the list of “green zone” countries, which means that travelers 16 and over may enter Monaco by presenting one of the following: proof of full vaccination against Covid-19; proof of recovery in the past six months; or a negative result from a P.C.R. or antigen test conducted within the previous 24 hours. To qualify as fully vaccinated, everyone 18 or over must have received a booster dose of an mRNA vaccine no later than nine months following the completion of their first course of vaccination. Adult visitors from the United States and other “List A countries” must present proof of full vaccination, a completed health form and a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 48 hours before travel. On arrival, each visitor must undergo a temperature check; they may also be randomly selected for rapid antigen testing. Children between 6 and 18 years of age are subject to the test requirements but do not need to show proof of vaccination.

Tourists 11 and older are required to present proof of a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered within 72 hours of their departure for Mozambique. Tourist visas are available on arrival for visitors who present proof of a return ticket and a hotel booking; however, the U.S. Embassy strongly encourages travelers to obtain their visa in advance via the Mozambican Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Passengers who present proof of vaccination may enter without testing. Unvaccinated visitors must provide a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of travel.

Visitors age 5 and over arriving by air must present either proof of vaccination or a negative result from a Covid-19 test (R.T.-P.C.R., N.A.A.T., or Gene Xpert) taken within 72 hours of departure. They are also required to complete a passenger details form. Travelers who display symptoms may be subject to testing on arrival.

Vaccinated visitors from the United States may now enter without a negative test result, though they must complete a health declaration. Unvaccinated travelers 18 and over are not allowed entry unless they qualify for an exemption. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

According to plans announced in early February, New Zealand will reopen its borders to vaccinated visitors from the United States and other “visa waiver” countries beginning in July 2022. Travelers must obtain a negative result from a P.C.R. test in the 72 hours before their arrival and submit the result to their airline before departure. Travelers 18 and over must provide one of the following: a vaccination certificate; a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before travel; a negative result from an antigen test taken within 48 hours of travel; or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 issued in the previous 180 days. As of Feb. 12, visitors may enter Norway without restriction. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

As of March 1, fully vaccinated travelers are no longer required to test before travel. According to the U.S. Embassy, visitors must have international health insurance covering at least one month’s worth of Covid-19 treatment. Unvaccinated travelers 18 and older are not allowed entry. Vaccinated travelers may enter without a pretest. Unvaccinated travelers over the age of 12 must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of boarding. All passengers should download the Pass Track App before travel and should be aware that they may be subject to rapid testing on arrival.

Palau is open to fully vaccinated visitors. Arriving passengers must provide a negative result from a P.C.R., N.A.A.T., R.T.-P.C.R. or other approved molecular test taken within three days of their departure. Alternatively, they may present a negative result from an antigen test taken no more than one day before departure, or documentation of recovery from Covid, including proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from a health care provider or a public health official clearing the person to travel. All travelers will also undergo testing after arrival in Palau.

Travelers are required to present a completed health affidavit (in physical or digital form) to their airline before boarding. Fully vaccinated travelers can enter Panama without a pretest. Those who aren’t inoculated must present a negative P.C.R. or antigen test result upon landing. If the test result is more than 72 hours old at the time of the traveler’s arrival in Panama, a rapid Covid-19 test will be performed at the airport, at a cost of $50. If that test is negative, they may move freely. If it’s positive, they must quarantine for 14 days at a hotel at their own expense. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

U.S. visitors must apply for a tourist visa before travel and complete an online form within 24 hours of departure. Visitors 18 and over must show proof of vaccination. In addition, arriving passengers age 5 and over must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test or an Abbot Panbio Antigen Rapid Diagnostic test administered within 72 hours of departure. They will also be tested on arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Foreign visitors age 12 and over must present a negative result from a P.C.R., L.A.M.P. or N.A.A.T. test taken in the 48 hours before departure, or from an antigen test taken in the previous 24 hours; in addition, travelers 18 and over are required to show proof of vaccination. Visitors must also complete a traveler’s health declaration within 24 hours of arrival and undergo a second molecular test at an authorized laboratory on the fifth day after their pre-arrival test was conducted. Children under 12 are exempt from the test requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

To enter the country, tourists must present either proof of full vaccination or a negative result from a molecular test taken within 72 hours of departure; they must also complete an affidavit of health. Children under 12 are exempt from the testing and vaccination requirements, but must be without Covid-19 symptoms at the time of boarding. Visitors are required to show proof of vaccination to access indoor venues as well as beaches, pools and other outdoor areas. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Fully vaccinated visitors from the United States and other countries who are allowed visa-free travel may enter provided they present an outbound ticket as well as a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 48 hours before their departure for the Philippines. They must also carry passports that are valid for at least six months beyond their date of arrival as well as proof of travel insurance for a minimum of $35,000 worth of Covid-19 treatment. Children under 18 are exempt from the vaccination requirement. Travelers are asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for seven days after arrival and report any relevant symptoms to local authorities.

As of March 28, visitors may enter without testing, quarantine or proof of vaccination. Masks are now required only in pharmacies and healthcare facilities. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Arriving passengers 12 years old and over must present a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. or N.A.A.T. test conducted no more than 72 hours before boarding, or from a rapid test from the previous 24 hours. Visitors must also complete a passenger locator form. Travelers who carry an E.U. Digital Covid Certificate or proof of vaccination issued in one of several approved countries may enter without a negative pretest. The United States is not among the approved countries, so travelers carrying C.D.C. vaccination cards should arrive with a valid negative test result. However, some travelers have reported that airlines have told them that their C.D.C. vaccination cards will be accepted in lieu of a negative test result; the U.S. Embassy advises that travelers check with their airline to confirm whether their vaccination cards will be considered valid. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must register online before travel. Fully vaccinated and recovered travelers from the United States and other countries that do not appear on Qatar’s red list may enter with a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 48 hours of departure. In addition to the pretest, unvaccinated travelers from the United States must also quarantine for five days after arrival and undergo a P.C.R. test on arrival and a rapid test on day 5. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Those planning to travel to the Republic of Congo must complete an online form, pre-pay roughly $68 for a Covid-19 test to be administered on arrival, and print the receipt for that payment to carry with them while traveling. Anyone who tests positive on arrival must isolate until they receive a negative result. Departing travelers must present a negative result from a virus test conducted no more than 72 hours before their scheduled departure.

Romania has lifted all of its pandemic-related travel restrictions. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Before traveling to Rwanda, visitors must complete a passenger locator form and obtain a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. test conducted no more than 72 hours before their flight departure; results from other types of tests will not be accepted. Children under 5 are exempt from testing. Visitors must also pay $65 to undergo a Covid-19 test on arrival. Travelers leaving Rwanda must obtain a negative result from a P.C.R. test within 72 hours of their departing flight. Tourists to the national parks may have additional testing requirements.

All visitors 18 and over must be fully vaccinated, while unvaccinated minors may enter with their accompanying vaccinated adults and follow the same regulations. In addition to their proof of vaccination, arriving passengers must present either a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. or N.A.A.T. test taken within three days of arrival, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test taken within one day of arrival. Each visitor must also complete an embarkation form no later than 24 hours before departure. Travelers who have recovered from Covid-19 are not exempt from the pretest requirement.

Visitors must complete a health screening form before departure. Fully vaccinated travelers age 5 and older must provide a negative result from either a rapid test taken within one day of arrival or a P.C.R. test taken in the previous five days. Unvaccinated travelers must present a negative P.C.R. result no more than five days old. Anyone arriving without a valid negative test result will be retested on arrival at their own expense and required to quarantine as they await the result. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Fully vaccinated visitors from the United States must complete a pre-arrival travel form and present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than 72 hours before their arrival, or a negative antigen result from the previous 24 hours. Unvaccinated travelers must arrive with a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted in the previous 72 hours and may be retested on arrival; they must also quarantine for 14 days and undergo an additional test between days 4 and 7. Minors follow the protocol of their parents or guardians. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Arriving passengers must carry a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before departure; they must also pay about $35 to undergo testing on arrival. Those who aren’t vaccinated must quarantine in an approved hotel at their own expense until they receive a negative test result from their on-arrival test.

Only fully vaccinated Americans may enter; they are no longer required to test before departure. Visitors must also apply for a tourist visa online before travel. All newly issued visas include insurance that covers illness related to Covid-19, which is required for entry. Visitors must download and register the Tawakkalna app and register their vaccination and travel dates in advance. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Arriving passengers must carry proof of vaccination as well as a negative result from a P.C.R. or R.T.-P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before arrival.

Passengers age 12 and over arriving from the United States must present one of the following: a certificate of vaccination; a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. or antigen test that was conducted in the 48 hours before travel; or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous 6 months. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must apply for travel authorization up to 72 hours before departure. In applying for authorization, unvaccinated visitors must upload a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. test administered no more than 72 hours before departure or a negative result from a rapid antigen test from the previous 24 hours. Vaccinated travelers do not need to provide a negative test result. (Travelers 18 and over who completed their primary course of vaccination more than six months previously must also have received a booster dose to qualify as vaccinated.) Visitors must also submit proof of travel insurance with full medical coverage valid for the duration of their stay. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must obtain an authorization before travel. Arriving passengers must also provide a negative result from a Covid-19 test administered within 72 hours of their departure for Sierra Leone. On arrival, travelers have their temperature taken and undergo two tests (a nasal swab and a blood test); they must pay an $80 fee to cover the costs of testing. Departing passengers are required to provide a negative test result that is no more than 72 hours old.

As of April 1, vaccinated travelers who carry a valid negative test result may enter without quarantine. The result must be from either a P.C.R. test or an antigen test administered within two days of departure. Children under age 2 do not need to test. Travelers who have a positive test result dated between 7 and 90 days before their departure for Singapore may be exempt from the pre-departure test. Visitors must also complete an arrival card before departure and install the TraceTogether app. Unvaccinated travelers aged 13 and above must apply for permission to enter; if approved, they must purchase travel insurance, self-isolate for seven days after arrival, and comply with testing requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

All passengers over 12 years and two months must complete a registration form and present it at the border. Fully vaccinated Americans may enter Slovakia without quarantine or testing. Unvaccinated travelers may move around freely after completing five days of mandatory self-quarantine, provided they are asymptomatic. Alternatively, unvaccinated travelers may take a P.C.R. test at any time after entry and end their self-isolation after they receive a negative result. Unvaccinated children ages 12 years and 2 months up to 17 years must follow the rules for unvaccinated travelers; younger children must follow the rules that apply to the adults they are traveling with. The C.D.C. risk assessment is Level 4: Very high.

Slovenia has lifted its pandemic-related travel restrictions; however, the country continues to abide by the European Union’s recommendations on restricting nonessential international travel. That means that tourists arriving from the United States must demonstrate proof of full vaccination. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Vaccinated travelers may now enter without a negative test result. Unvaccinated travelers must present a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours of departure. All arriving passengers are asked to install the Covid Alert South Africa app. Those who present symptoms on arrival will be required to quarantine and undergo testing. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

A negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 48 hours of departure is required to board a flight bound for South Korea; additional testing may be done upon landing. Arriving passengers must quarantine for seven days. The U.S. Embassy notes that limited categories of vaccinated travelers may apply for a quarantine exemption certificate at a Korean embassy or consulate before travel. There are no testing or quarantine requirements for transiting passengers staying less than 24 hours who don’t pass through immigration. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Spain is open to vaccinated and recovered tourists from the United States. To qualify as vaccinated, visitors who have completed only a primary course of vaccination must have received their final dose within the past nine months; those who have also received a booster dose face no time restriction. Recovery certificates remain valid for 180 days following the first positive Covid-19 test. Unvaccinated minors aged 12 to 18 may enter without showing proof of vaccination or recovery if they present a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of travel. Children under 12 may enter without testing or proof of vaccination. Before departure, all visitors must complete a health control form, which will generate a QR code that must be presented at the time of boarding and upon entry in Spain. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers must purchase Covid-19 insurance at a cost of $12 per month and complete an online health declaration; this will generate a QR code, which must be presented during travel. Fully vaccinated visitors as well as all children under 12 may enter Sri Lanka without providing a negative test result. Unvaccinated travelers 12 and over must present a negative result from P.C.R. test taken within 72 hours of departure, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test conducted within 48 hours of departure. Unvaccinated travelers must also book their first week of accommodation in an approved “flexible bio-bubble facility.” The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Arriving passengers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 72 hours before arrival. Travelers 8 and younger are exempt from the test requirement. A negative P.C.R. result from the previous 72 hours is also required to exit the country; the test must be from an accredited lab. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Sudan.

Arriving passengers must provide either proof of full vaccination or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 in the past six months. They must also present proof of medical insurance coverage valid for at least 30 days, as well as a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 48 hours before travel. Visitors must take an antigen test at a designated facility within three days of arrival. The government advises visitors to self-isolate for seven days after arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

As of April 1, Sweden has lifted all pandemic-related entry restrictions. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors from the United States who are fully vaccinated and have received their last dose or booster in the previous 270 days may enter Switzerland without testing. (The U.S. Embassy advises that U.S. vaccination cards must include an official stamp and signature from the administering authority in order to be recognized in Switzerland.) Arriving passengers do not have to fill out an entry form. Unvaccinated travelers from the United States are not allowed entry, as the United States is on Switzerland’s list of high-risk countries. Swiss authorities recommend that travelers go through a quick online check to ensure they understand all the requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Travelers must show a negative P.C.R. result issued within 72 hours of their arrival. Additional tests may be given at the airport. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Tajikistan.

Visitors must complete a health surveillance form within 24 hours of arrival. Travelers who present a vaccination card that includes a QR code may enter without testing. (The U.S. Embassy advises travelers to look here for information on how to obtain a QR code for a C.D.C. vaccination card.) Unvaccinated travelers must present a negative result from an R.T.-P.C.R. or N.A.A.T. test administered within 72 hours of travel; the test result must include a QR code. Children 5 and under are exempt from the test requirement. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Tanzania.

Fully vaccinated and recovered international visitors may now enter Thailand without quarantine. Potential travelers must register online; they must also submit proof of health insurance to cover a minimum of $20,000 of medical expenses. Arriving passengers must also carry a payment receipt for one night of accommodation at a government-approved hotel, the cost of which should include payment for a P.C.R. test to be taken on the day of arrival and an antigen self-test kit to be used on day 5. A pre-departure test is no longer required. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

All visitors must complete a travel form and upload a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken no more than three days before their departure for Togo. Visitors must also pay in advance for a second P.C.R. test, to be administered upon their arrival at Lomé Airport; proof of payment for the test must be shown before boarding. Arriving passengers must self-isolate until they receive a negative result from their on-arrival test, usually within 24 hours. Visitors are required to download the Togo Safe app; those who refuse may have to quarantine in a state facility for at least two weeks. Exit testing at the traveler’s expense is required no more than 72 hours before their departing flight.

Only vaccinated visitors are allowed, and they must provide a negative result from either an antigen or an R.T.-P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before arrival. Visitors must also apply for a travel pass before entry. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Arriving passengers must complete an online questionnaire. Travelers who are fully vaccinated do not need to test before travel. All visitors are also subject to mandatory testing on arrival; children 6 and under are exempt. Fully vaccinated travelers arriving by air in Abu Dhabi are no longer required to test before travel. Unvaccinated travelers 16 and over must present either a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the previous 48 hours, or a Covid-19 recovery certificate dated within 30 days of departure; the certificate must have a QR code. All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must submit to a free P.C.R. test on arrival.

Fully vaccinated visitors to Dubai no longer need to test before travel; their proof of vaccination must include a QR code. Unvaccinated travelers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test from the previous 48 hours; alternatively, they may present proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous month. The U.S. Embassy advises travelers to check with their airlines for the latest information on testing requirements. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

The United Kingdom has lifted all pandemic-related travel restrictions. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high

The country is open to vaccinated and recovered travelers. All visitors 6 and over must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test conducted in the 72 hours before departure. Visitors 18 and over who are neither vaccinated nor recovered will not be allowed entry unless they can prove that they qualify for an exception. Proof of health insurance that is effective in Uruguay is required. Visitors must also complete a health declaration form within 48 hours of boarding. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Vaccinated travelers may enter without a negative test result. Arriving passengers who are unvaccinated must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test performed within 72 hours of arrival. Travelers entering Uzbekistan at a land border may be required to take a rapid test even if they have a negative P.C.R. result. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Uzbekistan.

U.S. citizens may enter with a visa and a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 48 hours before arrival. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is “Level Unknown”; the agency recommends avoiding travel to Venezuela.

As of March 15, Vietnam has resumed its normal visa issuance policies. Tourists may enter with a negative result from a Covid-19 test; proof of vaccination is not required. The test result may be from a P.C.R. or L.A.M.P. test taken within 72 hours of departure, or from a rapid antigen test from the previous 24 hours. Foreign visitors must also complete a health declaration before entry and download and use the PC-COVID app while in the country. They are asked to monitor their health for 10 days and inform authorities if they develop any Covid-19 symptoms. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 4: Very high.

Visitors must show a negative result from a P.C.R. test taken in the 72 hours before travel and may be required to test on arrival if they display symptoms of Covid-19.

All arriving passengers must present a negative result from a P.C.R. test administered no more than 48 hours before travel. Travelers should create an account at globalhaven.org and upload their negative result before travel. Fully vaccinated visitors are not required to quarantine after arrival. According to the U.S. Embassy, proof of vaccination may be required to enter restaurants, bars and nightclubs. A negative result from a P.C.R. test is also required before departure; the test must be conducted at an approved facility. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.
